Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures: In little more than a weekend, the agency Jangled Nerves adapted the original live production of Volkswagen press conference at Geneva Motor Show into a purely virtual “newsflash”.

Traditionally, the Geneva Motor Show has always been the first European car show of the year. In 2020, however, it was cancelled as a result of the coronavirus. This meant that the two press days and the Volkswagen press conference could not take place as planned. Jangled Nerves had designed extensive multimedia content and an interactive stage presentation with various speakers and moving cars for the show. In order to provide media representatives with news despite the sweeping cancellations, Volkswagen decided without further ado to present its innovations in a webcast.
In particular, the many trailers/car films had to be modified for digital format in next to no time. In only a few hours, an on-stage press event was transformed into a studio talk format, which has been watched over 60 million times on social media in March alone.
